Club Service

Club Service

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, such as literacy, children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, and conflict resolution. We also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary Club of Houma lives the motto “Service Above Self.”

To the Rotary Club of Houma, “Service Above Self” is not just a motto, it is more of a call to action. Some of our community service projects include:

  • Adopted Coteau Bayou Blue (a Title One school)
  • Volunteer at the drink booth at Southdown Plantation Market Place to benefit Southdown Plantation
  • Coordinate a food booth to benefit the Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence
  • Coordinate relief efforts and donations for hurricane victims
